Memorial Day Weekend

We headed out to Melba this weekend, to lay gravel for Scott's parents.  It was a big, ugly job!  The guys worked so hard.  This picture only shows a small corner of the area they covered.

Those muscles you never use?  They got used!

The trees are so pretty and green.

I'd never seen Grosbeaks before.

It rained most of the day, but the birds were happy to hang out and eat.

I worked downtown for seven years.  It was a quiet, yet colorful place.  Freak Alley was out my backdoor.  It's evolved over the last few years into a wonderful outdoor art gallery.

                                         It's a wonderful space to wander through...

Candy, I call my sugar ...Candy....

Washington Elementary had their annual student art auction Friday Night. There were lots of amazing things to bid on.  

I was captivated by the beautiful candy from Goody's.  For a $10 donation, you could fill a container with anything you wanted.

Not only did it look yummy, it was so nostalgic that I was filled with memories of the taste and smell of each candy.

                 It also reminded me of how much I love the Manhattan Transfer's song "Candy".

An end to the torture!

I finally finished my color work hat.  It was one of the more challenging knitted pieces that I have done.

 I tend to knit on auto pilot, but found that I couldn't with this.  The pattern, although fairly simple, was demanding.

                    I had to really pay attention or it would have been a disaster.

                                      Instead it's beautiful.  Yay for me!!
